Seniors and people with disabilities deserve access to quality homecare that helps them remain independent and live with dignity.
Last year, our joint advocacy resulted in restoring funding for the Personal Care Attendant program in the state budget, and prevented 6,000 consumers from being pushed out of receiving the care they need.
This year, however, Gov. Healey has proposed a different restriction - a cap on growth for the PCA program. This cap will hurt seniors and people with disabilities, during a time when the need for PCA services continues to increase rapidly.
The House Ways and Means budget has rejected the Governor's cap, and supports the continued investment in the PCA program.
In this moment, our legislators must stand with us. Take action by thanking your state representative for their advocacy and support, as well as urging your state senator to reject any caps or cuts to the PCA program. We need full investment in the PCA program to ensure care is there now and in the future.
Please send your state legislators a message (using the draft email provided) to help ensure investments in homecare in the final state budget. We are thanking our state representatives for their leadership in rejecting Gov. Healey's cap, and urging our state senators to support the PCA program by doing the same.
Scroll down and select "Send email" to reinforce to our legislature that we need to invest fully in the PCA program.
